James and Wilf

Home James is a great documentary from 1972 which follows Huddersfield's most grandiose of sons, James Mason as he returns to his hometown after a long exile in Hollywood.

Alongside the footage of the brass bands and clothed capped mill workers, Mason also visits his friend Wilfred Makepeace Lunn, an inventor who makes small bicycles amongst other contraptions.

I could harp on about Huddersfield no end, it's my hometown too, but James is much better at it. You can now watch Home James in it's entirety at the bottom of this post.

"Dimension, form, design, thick vs. thin, were some of the critical ingredients for producing exciting works of art in black and white. In 1985 the birth of the Macintosh computer inaugurated itself as an art tool. The first program available was MacPaint." L. Gartel
